Lunch & Learn | Mental Health Matters.

You take your breath for granted. And that’s okay, most of us that have healthy, functioning lungs don’t pay much attention to how we can use our breath as a tool. But... when you learn how to optimize your breath, it can take your whole life to the next level.
Whether it’s stepping up your physical performance, increasing your metabolism, finding peace, and even finding out more about yourself, it all comes down to how your mind and heart are doing. And putting in the WORK through your BREATH can be a game-changer.


Cory Ostroot & Jessica Waala of The Healing Couple are international Breathwork facilitators who specialize in guiding others to heal through the power of their breath. Also being a Naturopathic Physician and Yoga Teacher, Cory and Jessica have a bank of knowledge and experience on how breath can truly allow us to optimize our lives in all aspects. 


In this Lunch & Learn, The Healing Couple will break down a few different types of breathwork and how each modality can be used as a tool to heal, so that you’re able to effectively implement breathwork in your life (based on your schedule, obstacles, and goals). During the second half of this event, Cory & Jessica will guide you through several breathwork techniques, one to increase your energy, and one to bring our more calm + release. (Remember you will have access to the replay so you can come back to these guided techniques as many times as you’d like!)

If you are a powerhouse that constantly has to prioritize your work, hold space and lead others, but have your own mental stuff to deal with, you’ve come to the right place. More specifically, if you’re also trying to reach some physical body goals (lean out, get toned and/or build muscle + strength while eating healthy), but are struggling with maintaining a positive relationship with yourself, these Lunch & Learn events are going to help you. A LOT.

“Mental Health” may seem like an extreme phrase, but it’s a real thing. According to the World Health Organization, mental health is “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”. 

So whether you have tucked away your childhood upbringings and traumas, or are currently surrounded by different societal pressures (like looking “fit”, maximizing work efficiency, eating healthy or being better with your loved ones), we all experience some level of psychological and emotional battle in our everyday lives. Every week, we will be bringing in different practitioners in the health & wellness/fitness industry who are going to get REAL. They will be sharing their stories, and how certain practices will help with mental AND physical fitness, but also heal and nurture the relationship with yourself.

These Lunch & Learn events will be taking place virtually on Zoom so that you can experience them in the comfort of your own space. You get to choose to be a background listener, but you also have the opportunity to ask questions and get advice + feedback from the practitioners who’ve been through this themselves!
